Lorena Carrington is a photographic artist and illustrator. She exhibits regularly, contributes creative work to arts and literary festivals, and her works are held in Australian and International collections.
Her photographic artworks interpret fairy tales, responding to a tradition of silhouettes in fairy tale illustration. These she produces by photographing many separate elements and combining them in detailed montages that relate darkness with light. This dichotomy unveils the heart of the fairytale and the hidden strengths of its protagonists that we think we know so well.
Lorena is a member of the Australian Society of Authors and her work can be found on The Style File: http://beta.thestylefile.com/illustrator/lorena-carrington.
She writes about fairy tales and the creative process at thebonelantern.com.
